A
Gift from Richard Hirschfeld and Alejandro Castro
A few months after meeting Engin Yesil's business partner
Arik Meimoun in Cuba, Richard Hirschfeld sent Meimoun
what seemed to be a generous gift—a stock certificate
reflecting Meimoun's ownership of ten percent of the shares
of Cohiba Rum Distributors Ltd., a corporation formed
in British Columbia. The company's shares had until then
been owned by Hirschfeld and Alejandro Castro, son of
Fidel Castro. The shares turned out to be worthless. |
